What gives the government the right to kill someone, is the intention of the killer, the circumstances of the killing, and they method of the killing. I really don't like the use of capital punishment, partially because of the fact that if the judge or jury gets the case wrong, than that will be another death of an innocent person. I agree on the point intentional killing of people is wrong, but the murderer did kill an innocent person, and that as you just said, is morally wrong. The person who was killed didn't deserve that fate, it was brought on top of them by someone who is not capable of not murdering someone and is even less capable of possessing their own life. I agree with Patrick Henry only on the account that capital punishment should be strictly reserved for extreme cases where loss of life is involved. In all other cases of crime, this extreme form of punishment should not be used.
