US Deploys Defenses for Possible N. Korean Missile Launch

U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates says he has ordered the deployment of a new missile defense system and a sophisticated tracking radar to respond to any North Korean missile launch that threatens Hawaii.

Meanwhile, America's top military officer says the U.S. Navy is prepared to try to stop North Korean ships suspected of carrying weapons banned by a new United Nations Security Council resolution.

One of the defenses that we see here in Hawaii (even from my own house) is the giant white radar that looks like a golf ball on a floating platform. It recently went out of dry-dock in Pearl Harbor and is being tested out in the sea.

The threat of our islands being hit is concerning to a lot of people here in Hawaii, partially because of what we remember from the attack on Pearl Harbor during WWII.

I don't think NK would attack Hawaii, they aren't that stupid. What you guys should be worry about is if one of those missiles goes off course. Then NK would feel the wrath of the US.
