Default Has the stimulus failed?

With companies in no mood to hire, the unemployment rate jumped to 9.4 percent in May, the highest in more than 25 years. The layoffs have no end in sight and this is months after the economic stimulus that we were told would save millions of jobs. We have gone from 7.6% unemployment to 9.4% unemployment in just 4 months. After a $787 billion stimulus. Has it failed? What do you think?

Stimuli packages are the panic button for the economy. These "panic buttons" either will work right away or not at all. Stimuli packages are a quick solution, but if they do not work properly, it could actually worsen the economic status.

I think it failed. The biggest reason Obama gave to pass the stimulus was to stop unemployment to go above 9%. We are now at 9.4%. It failed.

When I heard about the stimulus I was happy to hear money would be invested in America. Money that would help our cities, rebuild our roads and schools. Invest in trains and other green projects. Im still waiting to see any of that happen.

I voted yes because it will fail. It hasn’t failed yet, we have yet to see Obama’s massive infrastructure plan. If that goes through like promised then I will eat my words and be happy because that is what America needs. Rebuild our roads, our train lines, our schools and hospitals. Build some green power plans and get us off oil as much as possible. America hasn’t had a huge infrastructure fix since the 40s and we are due. Obama don’t let us down.

Of course it has failed. Where is all the money that was given to the banks? The money was suppose to be used for them to start borrowing again. That did not happen. What did they use the money on?

The idea of handing out tax payer money to businesses that made poor business moves is a failed idea.

Did you really think you could put all that money in the hands of bankers and they not misuse it? If I remember correctly our vp actually said there would be some money unaccounted for. The amount of corruption is unbelievable.

The Bankers who run the Treasury gave their Banker friends billions of our money and you believe the Government cares what they do with it? This stimulus was the biggest theft in the history of the world and we all got robbed.
