Default Riots in Greece against police

New news report states that Monday marked the third straight day of rioting in Greece after the fatal police shooting of a teenager on Saturday.

Thousands of police officers were unable to contain the demonstrators and the protests in Athens turned violent Monday when rioters threw concrete slabs of rocks and gasoline bombs at police officers.

Rioting continued in the country’s second-largest city of Salonika and spread to the city of Trikala, which is the country’s agricultural center. Thousands of people mainly teenagers took part in the protests. Luxury hotels, banks, stores, cars, homes, and even a government office have been set on fire.

Schools were closed throughout Athens on Monday and the country’s education minister said high schools would remain closed on Tuesday.

Tomorrow the rioting is expected to continue and on Wednesday a general strike is planned.

Alexis Grigoropoluos , 15, was allegedly part of a group of students who threw stones at a police car on Saturday. One of the officers in the car fired three shots at the teenager who was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The violence is the worst to hit Greece in decades.

What is the meaning of this three full days of riots and around 22 innocent citizens killed in the riots. There has to be a solution to this endless rioting!

All this fighting isn't good. The world is in some turmoil. Lets just hope it stops and stops NOW.

but the only problem is when it is going to stop because the teenagers could keep on rioting until they have what they wanted or until most of them die then they might stop rioting out of fear of being killed. This is too sad and why we kill each other.

Greece is one of the worst economies in the EU. Until they fix that and put those rioting in work nothing will change.

The people are not governed by local government. This is what happens.
